Why we place a high value on the elderly and nutrition needs
Elderly and Nutrition
Understanding the link between elderly and nutrition needs is very important. Like any of us, it is crucial to maintain a healthy, balanced diet to ensure the health and wellbeing of our residents. Because we recognise the importance of meals for our residents our cooks provide an excellent and varied menu, which changes according to the season. We are very proud of our menu and love to provide our residents with exciting and nutritional meals. This ensures that our residents remain happy and healthy during their stay with us.
We also understand that mealtimes are an important social occasion and our dining rooms provide a relaxed and comfortable setting for residents to enjoy their food and the company of others. Residents can either eat their meals in the dining room or their rooms, as they so wish.
At The Victoria Grand, we tailor our care plans for each individual, this includes meals. Therefore, our care plans include dietary needs and preferences to ensure each resident gets a nutritional and healthy meal. Furthermore, our carers are trained to support our residents with their meals, including those who have difficulty eating and drinking. This might involve helping with cutting up food, supervising mealtimes or providing guidance on how to eat a healthy diet.
